A Shocking Turn for 'The Blind Side' Star: Quinton Aaron is Battling for His Life on Life Support!
Fans of the heartwarming film 'The Blind Side' are sending their thoughts and prayers as actor Quinton Aaron is currently in a critical condition, fighting a severe blood infection. His wife, Margarita Aaron, confirmed that he was intubated and placed on life support on Friday after experiencing unexplained neck pain that led to a desperate 911 call.
But here's where it gets concerning: Doctors are still in the dark about the exact cause of this life-threatening infection, diligently conducting tests to pinpoint the origin. While the medical team describes his status as 'day by day,' Margarita remains a beacon of hope, describing her husband as 'a very strong fighter.'
She shared that after arriving at the hospital, the decision was made to place him on an endotracheal tube due to his irregular breathing. "They're continuing to run tests right now to find out what the root cause of the issue is," she explained. Quinton is currently receiving broad-spectrum antibiotics to combat any potential pathogens in his bloodstream.
And this is the part most people miss: Despite the severity of his condition, there are glimmers of hope. Margarita reported that Quinton is showing significant progress each day, with small but meaningful movements like wiggling his fingers and attempting to open his eyes. "He's doing some of the work as well, which is also promising," she noted, referring to his breathing assistance. A bioluminescent MRI is scheduled, which is expected to provide further clarity.
Margarita’s unwavering faith is evident as she stated, "He's a fighter; he's a very strong fighter, and you know, he is making progress day by day, and I believe God's got him, and he believes God's got him."
This health crisis comes after a previous near-death experience that led Quinton to a profound lifestyle change. Back in 2021, he recounted a startling incident where he fell off a waterfront wall into shallow water, despite not being able to swim. He described waking up submerged and hearing a voice tell him to 'Stand up.' This event, which he initially attributed to a 'come-to-Jesus moment,' led to the discovery of an infection in his toe that had spread to the bone. He spent several weeks in the hospital receiving IV antibiotics and fortunately did not lose his toe, though a portion was removed.
Quinton Aaron is widely recognized for his portrayal of Michael Oher in the beloved 2009 film 'The Blind Side,' which chronicled the true story of Oher's journey with the help of the Tuohy family, played by Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw.
